I really want a Gorilla Luce lamp…
I don’t really know why, but I love them and I want one. The only place I have seen them until now is as a prize for the best moanie or overly worded letter sent into Lighting magazine each month. As I don’t really have a huge amount to moan about in my day to day lighting life (some would disagree on this point) and I struggle to articulate a blog, let alone a letter published in the lighting press, then I doubt I will be receiving one any time soon.
I also need to consider the fact that my other half doesn’t really like the thought of an internally illuminated effigy to a bloody great gorilla hanging around our house. I fail to agree with her on this one, as she knows nothing about lighting and therefore I win, plus all the other cool people in lighting seem to like them, so I doubly win. I do decided to get one, then it will have to live with me at work, where at least a couple of people may appreciate him.
Another good thing is they are donating 5% of its costs to the Save the Gorillas fund, which can only make this product even better to the world of lighting, which is constantly criminalised for the bad it is causing.
As far as I can see it there are two benefits here of me having a Gorilla Luce lamp;
1. Looks great
2. Saves the world, one Gorilla at a time
So, if anyone does indeed read this blog and is feeling generous, I am more than happy to be on the receiving end of a Gorilla Luce lamp which will take pride of place on my desk.
Think I’ll call him Colin too.
